The NC Aquarium is hosting an all-day open house and food drive from 9am to 5pm on Dec. 6.

Santa will take requests from 10am to noon and from 1 to 3:30.

The aquarium will waive admission fees for all visitors donating one non-perishable food item per person. Donations go to Martha's Mission Cupboard in Morehead City. Regular admission applies to visitors not making food donations.

Regular admission is $8 for ages 18 to 61, $7 for ages 62 and older and $6 for ages 6 to 17. Children younger than 5 and NC Aquarium Society members are admitted free.

It must be winter.  This morning marked the first time that I have ever seen snow flurries here at the beach.  We were away earlier in the week, but ran into some snow squalls just before we crossed Interstate 95 on our westward journey.  Apparently those snow flurries also made it here.
