My premonition was correct. The Swansboro Market turned out to be a small crafts fair. I saw one cucumber on display. That was it for vegetables.
There were some nice things there, but it was August hot and even that close to the water there was no breeze, so I did not last long. Even my wife was ready to head back the car after a quick stroll through the Market.
The only person who had the right idea was the lady who was weaving baskets while sitting with her feet in a pail of water. She looked the coolest of the group.
I am not a big crafts person even in the winter, so a craft market when the mercury is above 90 is not going to hold my attention long.. At least I could flee across the street to some of Swansboro's air conditioned shops.

Emerald Isle Holiday Parade
The Emerald Isle Holiday Parade will be held Sat., Nov. 28, beginning at 4pm. The parade begins at CVS Pharmacy on Emerald Drive. Also after the parade there will be an official Christmas tree lighting at Merchants's Park. Enjoy free refreshments as well as a carol sing-a-long as Santa Claus visits with the children. Arts & Crafts Coalition Holiday Show & Sale
This three week show and sale of original juried artwork by members of the Carteret County Arts and Crafts Coalition opens each year in alternating locations. Local artists combine their work to create the show for Christmas shopping opportunities and, because of the outstanding works, it is truly an event not to be missed. BHA Community Thanksgiving Feast
