Gloomy on the Gut

There is not much even the tourism board can do about today's weather.  We got about nine tenths of an inch of rain yesterday, and so far today, the sun is only a memory from Tuesday afternoon.

We even have some fog trying to roll into Bluewater Cove from the White Oak.  I have tried to console myself by looking at nearby temperatures.  Roanoke, VA is eighteen degrees colder than our 59 degrees Fahrenheit.

Going lots farther afield, temperatures are thirty one degrees warmer than Fredericton, New Brunswick where we have also lived.  At least we did not just get whacked with a storm like California which got some hurricane force winds and heavy rains which at least helped out with their drought.

I have not given up wearing shorts though I was a little cool a couple of times yesterday in that 15 mph NE wind and rain.  As long as we can be close to the sixties, I am going to keep the blue jeans in the closet.

The fish continue to bite.  We stopped by Captain Sam's (I hope Jimmy over at Clyde's does not read this) for some shrimp.  I ran into a gentleman from Kentucky who had been fishing for spots the day before.  He said his boat had caught 291 spots on Tuesday.  My only comment was to say that was a lot of spots to clean.  He said that got up at 4:30 AM to start cleaning them.

One of the girls behind the counter said they had cleaned 500 pounds of spots for their weekend charity fish fry.  All of this makes the handful that I cleaned for dinner the other night look pretty puny.

Our temperatures are supposed to stay fairly constant over the next few days.  I would like to get back to sunshine and warmer temperatures because my second crop tomatoes still have a ways to go.

Getting those warm temperatures may be a challenge with 20% of the US already covered with snow.  I will be on the lookout for any stray sunshine today.  One can always hope something will burn the fog and gloom off of Raymond's Gut here at Bluewater Cove.

I did get caught up with some electronic work yesterday.  I entered 113 Buds Lane in Cedar Point into the real estate part of the site.  It is one of my favorite properties on the market.
