Rain drops on Raymond's Gut

Before we moved down here, we visited in all seasons and managed to be here during some very rainy weather.

My best fishing trip ever was on a cold, rainy day out of Beaufort, NC almost four years ago.  When I came in at noon from the fishing, I was pretty sure that I had frozen to death and just not noticed.  I am almost certain that a shrimp melt sandwich at Finz saved my life.

However, I recovered and that experience is now one of my favorites.

It is important to take the weather as it comes and know that it will change at someone to something that you love.

We get more than our fair share of great weather down here on the coast. If we have to put up with some rainy weather, I can deal with it.

I might have to find the rain suit that I bought for fall fishing, but that is not going to stop me from appreciating this great area.

After all weather is relative.  I got a note today from a friend who lives just north of Yellowstone in the Beartooth Mountains of Montana.  According to her, their first storm of the season is already at 2 feet of snow, and it is still snowing.

I will take our rain and sixty five degree temperatures anytime over Oct. snow.  It can be a lot colder in October here just as it was on my fishing trip four years ago so I will be thankful for what warmth we have.

There will be no complaints from me on the rainy cool weather, but I am pretty excited about that eighty degree temperature that I see on the forecast later in the week.

That is the kind of October that I would like to have.
